How Your SEO Analyzer works

Every report is built from the same engine Google uses to evaluate web pages. Here's what happens between clicking Analyze and seeing your scores.

1. You submit a URL

We check that the address is a valid web URL, then send it securely from our server to the Google PageSpeed Insights API. Your browser never talks to Google directly.

2. Google runs Lighthouse

PageSpeed Insights loads your page in a real Chrome browser using Lighthouse, an open-source auditing tool. It runs dozens of automated checks across three categories:

  • SEO — titles, meta descriptions, crawlability, link text, mobile friendliness.
  • Performance — Core Web Vitals such as Largest Contentful Paint and Total Blocking Time.
  • Accessibility — color contrast, alt text, labels, and keyboard navigation.

3. Scores are calculated

Each individual audit gets a score between 0 and 1. Lighthouse combines them into a weighted category score, which we convert to a simple 0–100 scale:

  • 90–100 — good, shown in green.
  • 50–89 — needs improvement, shown in amber.
  • 0–49 — poor, shown in red.

Performance scores can vary slightly between runs because network and server conditions change. Running a scan a couple of times gives a more reliable picture.

4. Audits are sorted for you

Checks scoring below 0.9 appear under What Needs Improvement, with a short explanation of what to fix. Everything else is listed under What You Did Well. Checks that don't apply to your page are left out.

5. Share the results

Each report has its own link. Use Share Report to copy it and send it to clients or teammates — opening the link runs a fresh scan.
